SUSTAINABLE FINANCE TRAINING
FOR FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS

Hong Kong, June 22-23 2006

The Competitive Business Advantage (CBA) workshop is designed to equip investors and financial institutions to assess risks and opportunities and capture new markets in major investment sectors, such as energy, renewable energy, carbon and emissions finance, clean-tech and in supply chains.

This two day workshop is aimed at credit-risk managers in financial institutions, fund-managers, venture capital investors and other finance professionals. The focus will be on investment strategies and opportunities in the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular relevance to Hong Kong and China based investors. The Competitive Business Advantage workshop is an interactive event, drawing on the experience and insight of participating managers as well as the trainers. The workshop is based on participant centered learning and teaching methods including case studies, videos, software tools and group exercises.

The Competitive Business Advantage training workshop has to date been delivered to the senior management of over two hundred financial institutions across more than 45 markets, including the US, South America, Europe and Asia. However this is the first time that the workshop will be delivered in Hong Kong. The trainers delivering the workshop have international experience in both financial and sustainability issues and have particular expertise in the materiality of sustainability issues to investors in the Asian region.

What the workshop will cover:


The workshop will assist financial managers to complete three tasks:
      • Assess the strategic rationale for environmental and social management
      • Perform cost-effective environmental and social risk management (ESRM) of investments
      • Implement value-added environmental and social management techniques institution-wide
Overall the workshop will enable investors and credit risk managers to assess and manage sustainability related risks and identify investment opportunities, thereby gaining competitive advantage through the delivery of value-added environmental services and products to clients.

Signing Up:

The course costs HK$3,900 (US$500). The price includes a full lunch and morning and afternoon refreshments.
