BRIEFING BY FATIMA REYES, ENVIRONMENTAL/SUSTAINABILITY MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTING

ASrIA will host a talk and discussion by Fatima Reyes, Chair, Environmental Accounting Committee, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants, on Wednesday, 10 November, 2004, (time/place) on environmental accounting. The talk will focus on the important role of environmental accounting and its relationship to sustainable investment.

Fatima Reyes is a Certified Public Accountant specializing in environmental accountancy, investment, and finance.  Her work deals with the development and use of accounting and finance tools and techniques to advance sustainable development.  Today's need for higher accountability and good corporate governance also call for accounting standards and practices that measure and report on a broader area of business concerns that includes not only economic outcomes but also environmental care and social responsibility.  Fatima is also a member of the UN Division for Sustainable Developments Experts Working Group on Environmental Management Accounting. 

Fatima will speak on Environmental/Sustainability Management Accounting and discuss how this can serve SRI objectives. 

The briefing will be held at 4:00pm on Wednesday, 10th November and will close at 6:00pm at the latest.  Attendance will be on a first come first serve basis, with priority registration being given to ASrIA members.  Please RSVP if you are able to attend. Non-ASrIA members who wish to attend will be charged HK$200.
