Summary |
Thanks
to generous sponsorship from the British Consulate General, Hong
Kong, ASrIA was able to organize an investor-oriented "Emissions
Roadshow" which sought to familiarize key members of the
Hong Kong investment community with issues related to climate
change, carbon emissions risk, trading schemes under development
in Europe, and valuation risks to Asian stocks with significant
carbon emissions exposure.
While
in Hong Kong, Mr. Chaney and Mr. Trevet, accompanied by Stephen
Fleming of ASrIA, were able to meet with equity research analysts
from several leading investment banks, including Goldman Sachs,
Cazenove, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, and Merrill Lynch. A
public presentation at the British Consulate General, advertised
to the Hong Kong investment research, energy finance, and NGO
community, drew a standing-room-only crowd.
