A very well attended event, hosted by one of our members, Standard Chartered Bank, who provided an
excellent venue. Julian Fong, CFO Asia, Standard Chartered Bank made some welcoming comments.
ASrIA director, Alexandra Tracy also introduced the speaker and facilitated the event.
The renewable-energy sector presentation by Jean-Francois Meymandi of SAM was very interesting, combining new information from his recent trip through China with background on similar activities in the U.S., Europe and
elsewhere, to give a global perspective.
The Q&A after the presentation was active, with questions asked about a number of types of renewable energy discussed by Jean-Francois - including solar, wind, hydro, batteries and about regulatory issues.
Prior to joining SAM, Jean-Francois worked as a business analyst covering the biofuel industry at EasEnergy, a corporate venture of EDF (Electricité de France), based in California. Jean-Francois holds a Masters in Management with a specialization in Finance from Euromed-Marseille, France and an MBA from Pepperdine University, Malibu, USA.
ASrIA member, SAM Sustainable Asset Management AG is active in the field of sustainable investments since 1995.
