Shahid Zahid, Lead Professional (Aid Effectiveness), ADB
Dr Shahid Zahid is the Lead Specialist on Aid Effectiveness with the Private Sector Operations Department of the Asian Development Bank. His primary task is to ensure the development effectiveness of ADB's private sector operations, and to ensure their alignment with ADB's strategic and development objectives.
Prior to joining the Private Sector Operations Department, Dr Zahid was with the Strategy and Policy Department of the ADB where he was responsible for monitoring and advising on the effectiveness of ADB's operations. He was also instrumental in developing the long-term strategy of the ADB, and several other key policies and strategies for the Bank. Dr Zahid has also worked on ADB's public sector operations and with their Economics Research Department.
Before Joining ADB in 1990, Dr Zahid taught and conducted research in economics with the Applied Economics Research Center at the University of Karachi in Pakistan. Dr Zahid has a Ph.D. in Development Economics from Stanford University, USA and an Honors degree in Mathematics and Economics from Cambridge University, England. |

Wai-Shin Chan , Executive Director, ASrIA
Wai-Shin joined ASrIA in 2008. He previously worked with JPMorgan as the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) equity analyst for Asia, looking at sectors such as the environment & renewable energy, but also issues like corporate governance and climate change. Prior to ESG, Wai-Shin was part of JPMorgan’s Transportation Team, where he focused on the shipping and airline sectors. He has also worked previously with heritage Jardine Fleming in the consumer and technology teams and has consulted for organisations such as Greenpeace. Wai-Shin holds a degree in Mathematics and Physics from Durham University (first class honours) and is a CFA charterholder. |

Alexandra Tracy, Director, ASrIA
Alexandra Tracy is Vice President - Strategy at First Eastern Investment Group, an independent investment group in Hong Kong. Based in Asia for nearly twenty years, Alexandra was for much of that time an investment banker, with Morgan Stanley, Citibank and ABN Amro Bank, advising on construction, acquisition and financing of major energy and infrastructure projects in developing countries in the region. Following this, she was Chief Financial Officer of AptitudeX Pte. Ltd., a start-up software company in Singapore, and then ran her own corporate finance consulting business in Singapore. She was then responsible for developing the Asian business of Campden Publishing, a media company which specialises in the private wealth management and family business sectors and provides information, in particular, to ultra high net worth investors and family offices in Europe and Asia. Alexandra subsequently ran Hoi Ping Ventures, a private entity based in Hong Kong, which provides independent research and consulting on investment and sustainability issues to multilateral institutions, corporates, universities, NGOs and policy research groups. Alexandra is currently an Advisor to the Hong Kong University of Science & Technology's Asian Family Business Research Centre. She has an MBA from the Harvard Business School and MA degrees from Yale University and Cambridge University. |
