ASrIA Annual Conference 2002
Saturday 26 October - Sunday 27 October - FULLY BOOKED
HOT NETWORKING EVENT AT A TRADITIONAL JAPANESE HOT-SPRING HOTEL (RYOKAN)
ASrIA is hosting a weekend at a traditional Japanese hotel. We invite
you to join us for a unique and relaxing networking opportunity. Hot-spring
(onsen) bathing has been a favorite pastime of Japanese people for many
centuries. Countless generations have enjoyed the medicinal qualities
of the tranquil waters in the thousands of hot-springs that dot the volcanic
islands of Japan.
Ryokan are the traditional hotels and inns that provide not only accomodation
but the best in Japanese service, food and traditions. Many Ryokans have
both indoor and outdoor hotsprings. We have booked one such Ryokan in
a beautiful scenic setting, about two hours by bus from Tokyo. There are
two outdoor and two indoor hot-spring pools, separated for men and women.
A bus will leave Tokyo on Saturday morning at 10:30am, with a scenic drive, stopping
at one or two interesting spots along the way including a restaurant for
lunch. The afternoon and evening will be spent relaxing at the Onsen,
though there are also walks in the nearby countryside. A traditional Japanese
dinner and breakfast will be served. The bus will return everyone to their
hotels in Tokyo on Sunday afternoon, stopping also for lunch.
Costs, including transport, hotel, dinner and breakfast are expected to be approx. YEN40,000 (approx. US$350). We will determine the exact cost, once we have a firm indication of numbers. Therefore please register your interest as soon as possible.
Traditional Ryokan rooms, with Tatami mats will be shared four to a
room. For specific room requirements, please contact Sweeta at sweeta@asria.org.
Saturday and Sunday lunch will be charged seperately, and the estimated cost is approx. YEN1,500 (approx.US$13) per head.
Numbers are limited and priority will be given to ASrIA members and
advisors. However we welcome anyone who is interested to put their name
forward and we will notify you as soon as possible if we can confirm your
place.
Put your name down now to make the most of this unique opportunity to
experience traditional Japanese hospitality in a beautiful rural setting,
whilst sharing insights on SRI in a socially relaxed atmosphere.
