Alan Harden, Chairman & President of Citigroup Asset Management Co., Ltd., has a total of 22 years' experience in the asset management business. He was voted as Global Fund Leader in 2002 (Global Fund News, Institutional Investor) for which he was also awarded runner-up in 1999, while working for Standard Chartered on fund distribution.

Prior to commencing with Citigroup Asset Management in January 2000, he was Global Head of Investment Services at Standard Chartered Bank. In 1994, he developed strategy and executed the establishment of Investment Services Department for Standard Chartered Bank, which provides the Securities and Investment Trusts Services business as well as the retirement pension program services for individual customers.

Between 1990 and 1994, Alan Harden was Managing Director of Standard Chartered Equitor Asset Management (SEA) Ltd and a Director of Standard Chartered Bank Trustee Singapore Ltd. During this period, he also contributed to the development of the asset allocation business as Chairman of Asset Allocation Committee for the ASEAN region and a member of Global Asset Allocation Committee.

Before 1990, he held a series of asset management positions with Abbey Life (1978 - 1979), Barclays (1979 - 1984) and Wardley Investment Services (now HSBC Asset Management, 1984 - 1990). For HSBC Asset Management, he managed and supervised the discretionary investment management services specifically designed for high-net worth individuals.
