Ms. Favila is currently Adviser to the Board of Philippine Business for the Environment (PBE), a position she has held since 2000. Prior to that, from 1992 to 1999 she was the Executive Director of PBE. She also currently acts as a Director of Aquagem Consultants As the first Executive Director of PBE, Ms. Favila set up/accomplished the following: · The Environmental Information for Business and Industry which by 1999 had over 3000 titles of books, journals and periodicals · The Industrial Waste Exchange program which by 1999 had included hundreds of companies and have facilitated over 50 successful matches · The Business and Environment magazine which survives up to today · Environtech, an annual environmental trade exhibition cum conference · Conducted numerous environmental conferences, seminars and training workshops for industry · Conceptualized and implemented the Philippine Business Agenda 21 which, with UNDP funding, mobilized industry associations to do strategic planning to help protect the environment through their business operations. Today over 80 industry associations have enlisted including Chamber of Mines, Phil Food Exporters Association, and the like · Acted as Project Manager for the publication of the Environmental management manuals for the restaurant industry and the semiconductor/electronics industry. · Represented PBE in international and local dialogues between industry and government Ms. Favila began her career as a Mathematics teacher at La Salle Greenhills High School from 1967 to 1970. She then joined Maryknoll College where she worked from 1974 to 1988 in various posts including Mathematics Department Head, Philosophy Chairperson and Associate Professor. She was Associate Dean, from 1974 to 1977 and College Dean from 1977 to 1978. From 1983 to 1988, she acted as Treasurer and concurrent Administrative Services Director at Maryknoll. From 1988 to 1990, Ms. Favila was the Executive Officer for Education and Publications of the Hong Kong Shippers’ Council. Ms. Favila holds a BSE in Mathematics from Maryknoll College and a MA in Philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University. She is currently working on her Ph. D. in Environmental Studies at Miriam College, Philippines. Ms. Favila has also received special training in the following:
