As Director of Research and Training for the non-profit Verité, Dan Viederman manages the organization’s efforts to gather and disseminate information about local labor and environmental conditions in the global supply chain. Verité also provides training on labour standards for corporate and factory managers with operations in developing countries.

Prior to working with Verité ,Dan managed social and environmental initiatives for Citizens Funds, a socially-screened mutual fund company in Portsmouth, NH. From 1994 to 1998, Dan was Chief Executive Officer of the China Program of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) where he established the Beijing office for the first international environmental NGO in China. Dan has also served as China Country Director for Catholic Relief Services, based in Macau.

A graduate of Yale University, Dan has a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University. He is a member of the Scientific Committee of the National Giant Panda Foundation, a Director of the International Fund for China’s Environment in Washington, D.C., a Director for Portsmouth, NH-based Clean Air – Cool Planet, as well as a Trustee of Dwight Hall at Yale University. Dan speaks Mandarin Chinese.

Dan lives in Concord, New Hampshire with his wife Mary Jo and their two children, Will and Hannah.
