Marc Stuart is one of the two co-founders of EcoSecurities, which has grown from a start up in 1997 to being named the leading Greenhouse Gas advisory firm by the readers of Environmental Finance in 2001, 2002 and 2003. In addition to being a director of EcoSecurities North American operations and leading the firm’s business activities across Asia, Marc coordinates the firms work in greenhouse gas mitigation business strategy to clients in the renewable and alternative energy sectors world wide. He has also undertaken substantial work for national governments and international institutions in delineating aspects of the GHG trading market. Marc led the team that built EcoSecurities emissions and project finance transactional capacity. Among other accomplishments, he and his team put together the first green certificate transaction that bridged developing and industrial world. Recently, EcoSecurities has structured and placed both carbon and green certificate backed debt instruments and has helped clients raise both project equity and debt for a variety of CDM projects around the world.
EcoSecurities has offices in Oxford, New York, Los Angeles, The Hague, Rio de Janeiro and Melbourne. In its seven-year history, EcoSecurities has developed its leading position in the emerging GHG market through organic growth and with a reliance on research, advisory and consultancy to clients across the spectrum of the emerging emissions trading market. With its Netherlands partner, Arcadis, EcoSecurities offers corporate strategy work related to implications of the European Union Emissions Trading System and emissions trading in general. Working with its partner, Standard Bank (London and South Africa) EcoSecurities offers clients a full range of project finance, investment banking and transactional services for projects related to emissions trading.
