Rajesh Srivastava joined Rabobank in India in August 1998 after spending about 1? years as the Country Manager in The GIC Group, an American consulting company, specializing in food and agribusiness. Graduating from Lucknow University in Economics and Laws, he spent over 12 years in Credit and Merchant Banking Divisions of a large Indian Bank. In 1994 he joined Lazard India as Head of South Asian Regional Apex Fund (the largest venture capital fund in India at the time). During his 3 years at Lazard, he structured 2 more private equity funds.
Whilst in Rabobank India, he initiated Sustainability as a business concept in India, which has now grown to be one of the best performing units for SD in Rabobank. He was promoted as the Regional Head, Asia, Food & Agribusiness in September 2002 and relocated to Singapore. He continues to supervise Sustainable Development sector in Asia and is also responsible for private equity related initiatives in Rabobank Asia. Currently, he is supporting the syndication of Robeco Sustainable Private Equity Fund . His current role charges him additionally as the Regional Director for RIAS, an in-house Consulting company of Rabobank.
