Richard Welford is Deputy Director of the Corporate Environmental Governance Programme at the University of Hong Kong. He was formerly Professor of Corporate Environmental Management at the University of Huddersfield and Professor of Sustainable Management at the Norwegian School of Management. He has considerable expertise of international business and has lived in both Europe and Asia. He has worked for the Samsung Corporation in Korea and carried out research for the UN in South East Asia. He currently advises the Swire Group and Cathay Pacific. He has written 15 books and over 70 refereed articles relating to economics, international business, environmental management and social responsibility. He has carried out a number of surveys on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development across the world and his presentation is based on recent survey work on environmentally and socially responsible investment in Hong Kong.
