Most respectfully I have the honour to inform you that I, Pranab Jyoti Patar a currently working with Wildife Trust of India, New Delhi as a Programme Officer, would like to put forward my candidature for the above mentioned post.

Here is a brief note highlighting my career outline so far:

It should be worth mentioning here that in the year 1997, I was chosen to volunteer for an Assam based conservation organization named GREEN GUARD and I am now a member of its 'Executive Board'.

With a first class Masters degree in Environmental Sciences with specialization in Natural Resource Management, I have been privileged to work & associated with institutions like Centre for Environment Education (CEE), Bharati Vidyapeeth Institute of Environment Education & Research (BVIEER), Pune, Assam Science Society, Guwahati and currently with Wildlife Trust of India (WTI).

My recent professional assignment with BVIEER, Pune involved research and development of nature interpretation materials as part of its 'Conservation Education Program for Critically Important National Parks and Wildlife Sanctuaries' supported by India Canada Environment Facility, New Delhi .

Simultaneously, I had also undertaken Doctoral Research from Tezpur University (thesis submitted for evaluation) on tourism related factors affecting Biological Diversity, where special focus was on to categorize and assess factors that affect the biodiversity of Kaziranga National Park, Assam; this study also emphasizes on the importance of Eco-tourism as an effective approach towards community conservation.

With an experience of nearly ten years in the non-government sector, I have been exposed to several aspects of socio-environmental concerns of the region and that has helped me in developing requisite skills and capacities to assess and mitigate the problem issues. Being a trained environmental researcher, I have so far engaged myself in searching solutions / innovations for problem areas like, man-animal conflicts, illiteracy in terms of environmental concerns, relationship between poverty & conservation, environment & development. Etc. However my interest lies in issues such as sustainable development, wildlife conservation, environment education, community conservation, sustainable livelihood & Eco-tourism.

I possess sound analytical, conceptual and strategic planning abilities, which are supplemented with, demonstrated skills of programme management & understanding on environmental facts. My fluency in English & other Indian languages, writing skills and willingness & ability to undertake sustained fieldwork will certainly help me peruse a challenging assignment.
