CSR Asia Summer School will be held in Hong Kong from 3-6 August
2005. This four day workshop is aimed at new CSR managers, auditing staff, researchers,
postgraduate students and any others interested in attending. The emphasis is
on CSR in the Asia-Pacific region. It will be a highly practical, workshop based
course limited to 20 participants. There will be 7 half-day workshops, a field
trip based on a practical stakeholder engagement and an optional 1-day trip
to China. The overarching approach is to demonstrate how CSR is linked to image
and brand enhancement through an examination of reputation risk. We will examine
important concepts such as transparency and accountability and consider how
CSR can be implemented in practice. Workshops will cover Perspectives on CSR
in Asia; Business and human rights; Labour standards and trade unions; Tackling
child labour; The environment and natural resources; Stakeholder engagement
(linked to half-day field trip); and Public health and occupational safety.
After the course participants can participate in a one day trip to Guangdong,
Southern China to experience at first hand some of the issues addressed in the
course. For more information visit http://www.csr-asia.com/summerschool.htm
