Tremblant Forum 05 - Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Around the world, corporate responsibility continues its march toward mainstream practice. Civil society and the media continue their scrutiny of corporate behaviour and people and institutions are clarifying their thinking on society's expectations about the responsibilities of business. Prudent corporate, governmental and NGO leaders are tracking the impacts of these trends on the long-term development of their organizations, both to broaden their definitions of risk management and to detect future opportunities. Some businesspeople feel, not without reason, they are navigating a turbulent sea of codes, indices, guidelines and networks of international organizations. Tremblant 2005 will provide useful direction and context to the most important of these international standards and organizations during the one-day conference's three roundtables discussions. International thought leaders will show how public commitments to corporate responsibility can be implemented in the areas of climate change and investment, human rights and in engaging NGOs. The discussion will focus on the latest international pressures and on the practical application of internationally-recognized codes of conduct, agreements, standards, and statements of principle. http://www.forumtremblant.org |
