AND TO CLIFTONS FOR THE USE OF THEIR FACILITIES AND REFRESHMENTS

On the 14th September 2005, the results of the 3rd Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP 2004) will be officially launched in New York.  CDP is the co-ordinating secretariat for the institutional investor collaboration regarding climate change.  Its mission is:

i)                    to inform investors regarding the significant risks and opportunities associated  with climate change; and

ii)                  to inform company management regarding the serious concerns of  shareholders regarding the impact of these issues on company value.

Carbon management is a significant issue facing corporates and investors worldwide.  Yet perhaps as an indicator of the complexity of the subject matter, there is often confusion regarding the real issues and for many, information gaps persist.  To mark the launch of CDP3, Gail Kendall, China Light and Power's Group Director for Environment, will talk about greenhouse gas emissions, why investors are interested in their disclosure, what companies are doing about their emissions, and what is being traded.

Copies of the CDP report will be available free of charge.

The briefing will be held at 4:30pm on Wednesday 21st September.  Please RSVP and let me know if you are able to attend.
