Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainable Development In China

The Institute of Contemporary Observation (ICO) is organizing a conference on CSR and sustainable development in China on 26--27 October, 2006, and one day pre-conference workshops for multinational companies and their suppliers in China on 25 October, 2006.

There are currently 400 expected participants and 60 excellent speakers from domestic and international companies, NGOs, trade unions, academics, government officials participate the conference, share their experience and knowledg at the event. General Data

The conference is comprised of 20 sessions, include 4 plenary sessions and 16 breakout sessions. Its topics China's political, economic, social development, legislation, labor, social gender, environment, occupational health and safety, community relation, vocation education, trade policy, investment environment, industrial situation, etc. All of the breakout sessions will share business case study. 60 speakers are from worldwide business leaders, government officials, academics, trade union, NGOs, factory management, workers and media representatives. About 400 participants discuss how to face the challenges of CSR in China at these series of session, and refined understanding the China special status and share their success experiences, seek for the innovative approach. This event is held by the Institute of Contemporary Observation (ICO).

The event shall take place over a two-day period, and shall include workshops, seminars, plenary sessions and case studies on various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)-related issues in the participant countries.

The official language of the conference shall be Chinese and English and all documents drafted during the conference shall be written only in these languages.
