Holcim Forum 2007

More than 200 international experts will meet in Shanghai at the Holcim Forum to be held from 19 to 21 April 2007 to advance concepts for the sustainable development of cities.

Internationally-renowned speakers at the Holcim Forum 2007, which is being hosted by the Holcim Foundation for Sustainable Construction, will include:

  • Brenda Boardman, head of the Lower Carbon Futures Team, University of Oxford
  • Enrique Peñalosa, former mayor of Bogotá
  • Saskia Sassen, professor of sociology, University of Chicago
  • Klaus Töpfer, former executive director, United Nations Environment Programme.

Workshops will examine postition papers from more than 50 specialists on new ideas for urban development and innovative solutions that are producing tangible results. Discussions at the symposium will be completed by a full-day excursion in the Shanghai region.
