SRI - Now a Core Discipline

The SRI field has developed dramatically in the past two years with clearer definitions and fund opportunities expanding past previous boundaries. SRI continues to set the standard for core risk management disciplines focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) parameters. At the same time, we are seeing the emergence of a number of new return-seeking thematic funds in areas such as clean energy and healthcare. Critical themes for retirement scheme professionals include the growing impact of the UN’s Principles of Responsible Investment, how managers are assessed on ESG capacity, and the role of engagement with companies. HKRSA’s recent survey conducted by RepuTex highlighted issues relating to risk assessment and need for more sustainable investment through the MPF platform. Melissa will talk about this as well.
