SRI Conference in Korea Date: June 20, 2007 ASrIA Executive Director, Melissa Brown will be one of the speakers of the event. The first International SRI Conference - Responsible Investment Strategy for Sustainable Development will take place on 20 June 2007 at International Conference Hall, The Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The event will also include PRI signing ceremony in which six Korean institutions are invited to sign the Principles. The event is hosted by the National Pension Service (NPS), in association with Moneytoday, and organised by Eco-Frontier and KoSIF (Korean Sustainability Investing Forum) The conference will explore prospects and challenges for Responsible Investment in South Korea. Responsible investment (RI) has already made some remarkable progress in Korea, in that total assets of over KRW 600 billion has been invested in 12 RI funds. NPS, the sixth largest pension by total asset under management in the world, had begun responsible investing since 2006. It has assigned KRW 300 billion to six different RI fund managers, and is planning to expand RI continuously over the next few years. NPS and Moneytoday, an economic news service provider, hosted this coming event to help long-term investors, especially institutional investors such as pension and insurance companies, understand the right concept of responsible investment and establish the best investment strategy. The conference is open to investment managers at pensions, banks, insurance companies and asset managers, financial analysts and investment strategists, corporations (IR or CSR staff), policymakers, researchers, media, NGOs, etc. For more information, please contact: Woojoung Chun, Eco-Frontier Co. +82 2 380 3492 / wjchun@ecofrontier.co.kr |
