Carbon Disclosure Reporting Event, Korea

Date: March 6, 2008
Location: Seoul, Korea

ASrIA is a supporting organisation.

Leading global finance institutions including UBS, Citigroup, and Merrill Lynch have published research reports indicating that investors are increasingly seeking to incorporate climate change risks and opportunities into their portfolios. A key resource for understanding such risk has been the UK based Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) which has since 2003, on behalf of an increasing number of institutional investors, requested disclosure on carbon risk and management from the largest global companies by market capitalisation.

With the recent release of the 2008 CDP request, what are the implications of such reporting for Asian corporations and what options are available to respond? The goal of these forums will be to bring Asian companies together to understand:

   1. Investor expectations
   2. Carbon emissions reporting process
   3. Relevant best practice examples

Representatives of Ko-Sif and ASrIA will provide participants with background on the growing impact of the CDP, information on how Asian investors are evaluating climate change and carbon emissions disclosures, and a discussion of common strategies for organizing and reporting corporate carbon emissions data as well as critical trends at the Asian sector level which are likely to shape investor expectations.  This is the second related event.

Admission by invitation only
