Conference on Corporate Responsibility in Asia: Why Responsible Business Conduct Matters

Date: November 2-3, 2009
Location: Bangkok, Thailand, United nations Conference Centre

On 2-3 November 2009 the OECD will organise with ESCAP a  Regional Conference entitled “Why Responsible Business Conduct Matters”. The event will be held on the occasion of the “Trade and Investment Week at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok, Thailand and will benefit from the participation of the ILO, the UN Global Compact, the GRI and key players from the OECD and Asia/Pacific region. 

Participants will :

  • Discuss the respective roles of governments, business and other stakeholders in promoting responsible business conduct (RBC) in the OECD and Asian contexts;
  • Learn from concrete experiences, with a special focus on climate change and financial issues, and
  • Discuss the supporting role of the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises and other leading international corporate responsibility instruments.
