Engagement: A Global Perspective
ASrIA is a Supporting Organiser.
Engagement Seminar for Investment Professionals An invitation-only seminar
Date: May 26, 2010, 3pm - 4:30pm Location: Tokyo, Four Seasons Hotel
Engagement Around the World Increasingly, institutional investors are focusing on active ownership to fulfil their fiduciary duties. The United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment - Principle Two - requires signatories to “be active owners and incorporate ESG issues into ownership policies and practices”. This practice has developed in different ways around the world.
This seminar is an opportunity to understand how engagement has developed in different regions globally. It will provide an insight into the different techniques available, the challenges of these techniques, and case studies of practical implementation. We will also address:
- What are the latest trends and how these might develop in the future?
- Where is there convergence around the world?
- What are the opportunities for Japanese investors embarking on engagement on a global level?
There will be an opportunity for the audience to share both their experiences and to raise issues for discussion by the international panel.
