Thomson Extel and the UK Social Investment Forum Launch the Social Responsible Investment Survey London, 11 July 2003 – Thomson Extel, in association with the UK Social Investment Forum (UKSIF), today announces the results of its first survey on Social Responsible Investment. The survey, which was conducted from 24 March to 24 May 2003, had responses from 105 of Europe’s premier fund management firms. Key highlights from the Thomson Extel/UKSIF Survey include: · HSBC Securities and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein set to capitalise on growing demand for Socially Responsible Investments (SRI) sell-side services · 90% of the leading fund management firms surveyed stated that they expect their involvement in the SRI market to increase. · Key awards are being presented on July 10 in the evening by Tessa Tennant, Chair of the Carbon Disclosure Project and long-standing global SRI advocate. Helen Wildsmith, Executive Director UKSIF said: “As the clear leaders in the brokerage community for SRI-related news and analysis, HSBC and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein are ideally placed to capitalise on the rapidly growing demand from investors for news, views and research about material social and environmental issues.
