Release of HP's 2003 Global Citizenship Report

27 October 2003

This report describes the management systems, policies and practices Hewlett Packard (HP) use to meet the global citizenship objectives and summarizes their performance during 2002.  It is part of their ongoing effort to promote greater transparency into the ways they think and operate, and provides a tool for stakeholders to understand HP's goals and monitor their progress.

The report is available online at http://www.hp.com/go/report

HP strives to lead the corporate sector as an exemplary corporate global citizen by applying itself to the environmental, social and economic challenges of globalization.

The solid performance in global citizenship contributed to HP's inclusion in two highly regarded financial indices - the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index and the FTSE4GOOD index. While these acknowledgements confirm that they are headed in the right direction, HP recognizes that global citizenship is a long-term commitment and the corporate community as a whole has a long way to go.

The 2003 Global Citizenship Report provides detailed case studies on a variety of HP's successful global citizenship initiatives. They continue to invest in improving their social and environmental performance and look forward to building on the progress described in this year's report.
