RFP Conference Organiser for Premier SRI Event in Japan 2004 12 January 2004 Following the success of ASrIA's 2002 International SRI Conference in Tokyo attended by 300 people, and this year's UNEP FI Roundtable, attended by some 500 people, ASrIA wishes to support the continuing momentum for SRI in Japan by assisting in the organisation of an SRI conference in 2004. Given that ASrIA is organising its third international conference in Singapore, in April 2004, it is not possible to organise a Japan event alone. Consequently we invite proposals from organisations interested in organising an SRI event in Japan with whom we can co-operate. The objective of the Conference is to: Support the growth of SRI in Japan Support high Corporate Governance and CSR standards in Japan Increase understanding about the provision of environmental and social information, and Increase understanding about the value of environmental and social information Provide updates on developments in SRI internationally Address SRI issues specific to Japan The key audience will be: Primarily from Japan, specifically the investment community in Japan: those active in managing SRI Funds, or planning to do so; and Pensions Funds and their advisers. Regulators, service providers, and corporations will also be encouraged to attend.
Venue: Central Location in Tokyo The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate: Skills and experience in conference planning and management Specific understanding of the needs of the investment community Familiarity with Japan in particular and experience in organising events there. Value for money for sponsors and participants The successful applicant will be responsible for ALL logistics and organisation and ASrIA accepts no financial liability for the event in any way. Terms and Conditions: ASrIA will work in association with the successful applicant, providing input to the agenda, suggestions for key speakers and promotion of the event through the ASrIA networks especially those in Japan and through the ASrIA Ebulletin.
