NEW $US1 MILLION PRIZE

The Alcan Prize for Sustainability is a new award launched yesterday at the World Economic Forum, Davos Switzerland.

The Alcan Prize for Sustainability is a US$1 million Prize to be awarded each year to any not-for-profit, civil society and non-governmental organisation, based anywhere in the world, for their contributions to economic, environmental and / or social sustainability. The Prize recognises past performance and helps winning organisations continue to contribute to and impact on sustainability through their ongoing activities.

We would be grateful if you would help spread the word and encourage eligible organisations to enter or indeed, enter your organisation for the Alcan Prize for Sustainability.  This is one of the most significant, privately funded awards of its kind - for entry details and requirements please visit www.alcanprizeforsustainability.com The closing date for
entries is 31st March 2004 (Midnight GMT).  The website is also

The Prince of Wales International Business Leaders Forum (IBLF) is managing the program on behalf of Alcan Inc.  An international panel of distinguished judges, Chaired by José-Maria Figueres, Co-CEO of the World Economic Forum and former president of Costa Rica, will review the accomplishments and intentions of applicants and select an annual winner. The judging panel will also determine which applicants merit Alcan Bursaries.  Alcan Bursaries are redeemable for a suitably qualified senior member of staff to attend the University of Cambridge Program for Industry in England and earn a Post Graduate Certificate in Cross Sector Partnership.
