MTR Named The Best Sustainability Report

The MTR Corporation's Sustainability Report is named the first Best Sustainability Report by ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) in recognition of the outstanding reporting on its effort and commitment towards sustainable development, i.e. social, environmental and economic development.

The Award which embraces two categories: environmental reporting and sustainability reporting, aims at identifying and rewarding innovative attempts to communicate organizational performance in environmental or sustainability reporting. After winning the first Best Environmental Report last year, the MTR Corporation continued its effort and outshone 10 entrants to win the first Best Sustainability Report Award this year. "All business should be accountable for their impacts, highlight the business community's role in sustainable development and, ultimately, by rewarding best practice and providing feedback," said Mr Leo Lee, President of ACCA Hong Kong, at the Award Presentation Ceremony. MTR Corporation's Report was specially accredited for its benchmarking against international guidelines, clear presentation of its targets, achievements, challenges and demonstration of comparative analysis and risk identification.

"We are honoured to be accredited with the ACCA Award again this year. It is good recognition to our continuous effort in demonstrating the Corporation's commitment to shoulder our economic, social and environmental responsibility in building a sustainable future of our community," said Mrs Miranda Leung, General Manager – Corporate Relations of MTR Corporation.
