Adidas Post Stakeholder Dialogue Reports

12 December, 2004

Adidas have posted their most recent 2004 stakeholder dialogue report, which focuses on labour issues in the garment industry.  The report was compiled by Stephen Frost, an independent consultant on labour and CSR issues who Chaired the meeting.  The report provides a valuable insight into evolving discussions on key labour related CSR issues.

Addidas notes that:
"No company exists in isolation. Businesses need to involve and inform the organisations, groups and individuals who have a vested interest in their performance. Opening up regular dialogue with all our stakeholders helps us find out how best to respond to their needs. By actively and systematically engaging with stakeholders, we believe we can balance interests, build consensus and enhance transparency of our business.

Our stakeholders are those organisations, groups and individuals whom we affect or who affect us. We have always worked closely with our business stakeholders - including customers, suppliers, shareholders and employees. But not all stakeholders have a direct voice. We are still looking for ways to improve how we communicate with, and receive feedback from all of our stakeholders.

We have begun to hold formal consultation meetings - we call them 'stakeholder dialogues' - to engage key stakeholders and canvas their views on our Social & Environmental Affairs programme."
