Japanese Pulp Producer Invites Comments on Sourcing Policies 25 July, 2005 Nippon Paper Group recently ran a public consultation on its wood chip sourcing policies. This consultation is now closed, however details on the companies follow-up steps are below. This initiative follows the recent decision of Mitsubish Paper Mills not to take old growth forest for wood chip. This public consultation process provides a critically important oportunity to get Nippon Paper Group to follow Mitsubishi's lead in only purchasing woodchips from plantation or regrowth sources. Nippon currently take a lot more chip from our forests than Mitsubishi. Comments closed on the 19th of July 2005.
