KEY Characteristics:
The fund’s objective is to invest in shares of companies of the MSCI Europe Index by identifying sector leaders that put sustainability into practice. The investment team uses a framework developed with recognised sustainability experts and applies a quantitative approach to portfolio construction. The fund management takes a rigorous 3-step investment procedure such as (1) positive sustainability analysis with information sourced from the SiRi company, (2) negative screening to eliminate those companies violating defined environmental and social exclusion criteria
(weapons, nuclear, tobacco) or failing to fulfill certainminimum financial requirements and (3) quantitative portfolio construction.

The fund management believe that great market opportunities lie on the following areas:

• Energy: rising or high energy prices benefit those companies that display superior energy efficiency to their competitors'
• Material: high or volatile prices for raw materials have less of an impact on companies that use their material inputs wisely
• Emissions: toughening environmental legislation and impending introduction of CO2 taxes favour companies that have already introduced best practices and are prepared for the 'low-carbon economy'
• Sustainable development: This has been high on the global political agenda since the Earth Summit in 1992 and thus represents a robust underlying global megatrend
