KEY Characteristics:
The fund, the first of its kind sold by a foreign asset management firm, helps improve the value of target companies by exercising the voting rights attached to shares. About 200 small-cap stocks are selected as potential investment targets. To help raise the value of undervalued stocks, the fund plans to target companies to appoint more outside directors, sell unprofitable assets and pay out more dividends to shareholders. The fund seeks more than a 3% stake in a company to become an influential shareholder to affect policies and practices of the company, and its life span is 3 years with expected fund size of 30 to 50 billion won in the first year.
