KEY Characteristics:
The fund focuses on investing in companies whose main business is directly linked to agricultral business or supports the business. The fund defines the agribusiness as the following four categories: (1) resource owners, i.e. land cultivattion, agrichemicals & fertilizers and seeds, (2) facilitator i.e. equipment & technology providers, distributors and financial institutions that have financial products to support the agibusiness, (3) value adders, i.e. wholesalers and processors of agricultural products (4) distributors, i.e. food & meat processors and marketing companies. Deutsche Investment Management Americas Inc. is directly involved in the investment process. The fund's investment process is as follows: (1) screening (targeting companies whose business is 100% linked to the agribusiness with market capitalization of over US150m or who have such subsidiaries), (2) building a preliminary universe of 550 companies, (3) valuation analysis which leaves 250 names, (4) risk assessment, (5) building a model portfolio with 60 - 70 stocks. Forex hedging activities.
