Fund Manager:
Korea Investment Trust Management Co.

Research Provider:
Sustinvest Co.

Fund Name:
Better Corporate Governance Fund

Launch Date:
Jan-08

Screening (except economy):
Corporate governance

Key Characteristics:
The fund invests 60% or more of its assets in companies whose corporate governance structure is deemed to be transparent. It also looks at companies which are in transition to show significant improvement in their overall governance structure in the foreseeable future or are potential M&A targets because of poor governance and weak shareholding structure.

The fund's portfolio is based on two pillars: (1) analysis of corporate governance structure; and (2) analysis of long-term growth potential looking at the industry perspective in which company operates, the state of its competitiveness, the level of its sustainability in terms of primary business, and its potential to strengthen overall competitiveness through M&A activities. Fund management regularly monitors the corporate governance performance of these companies and actively engages with corporate management. Corporate governance-related analysis and ratings are provided by Sustinvest, an independent sustainability research firm.
