As one of the first regional hedge funds to focus on Asian environmental growth, the Green Dragon Fund focuses on investing in well-managed growth companies with operating exposure to technologies and services addressing environmental needs in Asia as well as those with a leadership position in Environmental Social Governance. The fund looks to short-sell companies that are likely to experience earnings erosion from policy and regulatory changes. The fund may also invest in carbon credits as well as derivatives of the carbon emissions trading systems. The fund would donate 33% of the management fee and 50% of the performance fee after rebates to NGOs and registered charities dedicated to and active in environmental conservation and education in Asia.
