The Green Fund is an initiative pioneered by KEHATI, the Indonesian Biodiversity Foundation founded in 1994 by former Environment Minister Prof. Dr. Emil Salim, USAID and other associates from the Indonesian civil society. The fund is designed to leverage financial support from the business community for ecologically and financially sustainable biological resource conservation programs. Thereby the focus is on supporting companies which produce eco-friendly products and technology, renewable energy, or promote sustainable development. The fund will be managed by Bahana TCW, an Indonesia asset management firm.

Allianz Indonesia is a founding member of the Green Fund together with companies such as Medco, Indofood, Astra International, Bumiputera, Telkom Indonesia and Bank Mandiri. As part of its corporate social activities, Allianz initially plans to invest 2.5 billion Rupiah under a special arrangement in which 50% of the investment return is donated to KEHATI Foundation and the remaining 50% preserved for Allianz.
