Tata Select Equity Fund is the first and the only Syariah-compliant equity fund to date in India. The fund invests primarily in select equities of companies in various industries with the exception of prohibited sectors such as liquor, tobacco, consumer goods, finance and banking and investments in interest bearing securities. The fund is an open-ended equity type. The fund engages in hedging activities using derivative products which may reach a maximum position of up to 50% of the fund's net assets.
