Reporting on carbon emissions has become increasingly important to global investors concerned with climate change related risk. In light of this, it is essential that businesses describe corporate measures to reduce emissions and mitigate their climate change related impacts, including the provision of quantitative data on carbon emissions as well as descriptions of the tools used. Overall, reporting by Asian institutions significantly lags the best practice standards being adopted globally. Asian businesses therefore face a mounting challenge in closing this disclosure gap.

It is on behalf of these Asian corporates that this portal has been constructed.

The ASrIA Carbon Emissions Reporting portal should be used together with the ASrIA Climate Change Portal, where climate change fundamentals are discussed. This portal, however, provides a fuller discussion of the emissions reporting process and relevant best practiced.

The portal has also been established to encourage Asian companies to participate in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) and it is related to the ASrIA Carbon Emissions Forum held in Hong Kong and Beijing funded by the British Consulate of Hong Kong
