Quantitative emissions disclosure, represented by Scope 1 emissions disclosure, occurs with 48% of Asian participants, setting the stage for greater transparency and comparability.

Trends in quantitative disclosure include:

  • Companies from Hong Kong and Korea were primarily responsible for data disclosure.
  • Data is more likely to come from companies upgrading their reporting systems, moving toward global reporting norms. This is particularly true of companies from carbon-intense sectors such as industrials, utilities, and materials.
  • The presence of greater board and top-management oversight facilitates data disclosure.
