To complement and ensure maximum value from ASrIA's conference on 2 November, we are planning two days of activities preceding the Conference. These will allow delegates to gain valuable practical insights and a fuller picture of SRI in the region.

Wednesday 31st October
Factory Visits in Southern China
Organised by  Formalwin Consultants

Participants will see at first hand the issues that confront companies implementing sustainable business practices. The focus will be on supply chain management and the challenges facing companies leading the way in implementing SA8000 and ISO 14000 management systems in China's burgeoning consumer goods manufacturing region.

Bus leaves at 7:00am from Harbour View International House

Please bring passports with Visas.

The bus will drive to the Border with China, where everyone will proceed through passport controls. The tour will visit three to four factories in Shen Zhen. There will be a lunch break at a local hotel. The tour will return to Hong Kong, Central by approximately 6pm.

We are arranging a series of meetings with large cap Hong Kong index stocks and with smaller companies from 'industries of the future'. The meetings will showcase potential investment opportunities and provide a learning experience for investors new to SRI who want to participate in company meetings where SRI issues are discussed.

ASrIA Inaugural Conference

Thurs 1st November 6pm Opening Reception, sponsored by FTSE held jointly with ACGA Asian Corporate Governance Association Jade Ballroom, 3rd Floor, Furama Hotel, Central Friday 2nd November: ASrIA Inaugural Conference, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre " SRI in Asia - The Business Case for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia" A mixture of panel sessions and interactive workshops, ASrIA's conference will address SRI in Asia for the first time. ASrIA is pleased to bring leading SRI practitioners and thinkers from around the world to Hong Kong. The conference offers an unparalled learning opportunity. Bringing leading SRI practitioners together in Asia for the first time it will be a platform to introduce global best practice into the Asian investment community. Importantly it will address SRI on Asian terms seeking to identify metrics and products which will add value in Asia.

ASrIA AGM

Immediately following the conference ASrIA will hold its first AGM. This is open to all members and will elect the board for the coming year.

Saturday 3rd November:
ASrIA Workshop

THIS EVENT IS NOW FULLY BOOKED

This will be a more casual gathering away from the city center to explore new ways for ASrIA to achieve its goals. This day will be especially valuable for strengthening links between SRI practitioners from Europe and the US with those in the region.
