SPEAKER BIOS
Paul Grimes began his career in the
city ten years ago with the Financial Times Group. He spent six
years with the publishing group, working both in the Financial Times
newspaper's financial team and as part of the group's senior management
structure. Paul worked alongside the board and was responsible for
developing plans for improving the Financial Times' global position
and profitability.
Paul joined FTSE International from its creation in 1995 as Financial
Controller. Initially, he handled the day-to-day operation of all
areas of finance, treasury, human resources and legal/administrative
functions, but his role and influence grew with the size and output
of the company.
After rising to Finance Director in 1997, Paul assumed a broader
corporate position. He became Company Secretary in 1998 and treasurer
and secretary of FTSE International Inc, later in that year, as
FTSE International expanded overseas.
Paul's early career in finance spanned the charity and leisure
services, prior to joining the FT Group. He is a Fellow of the Association
of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
