| Dear
Colleague,
How do world-class organizations
approach sustainable development, social responsibility, ethics
and globalization issues? How do these
approaches impact their financial performance and what does this
mean for businesses in Asia?
Until recently, the role
of environmental and social management has often been one of damage
control and helping companies reverse the
unintended effects of their business actions. Today, analysts, companies
and financial institutions alike cite a strong correlation between
social and environmental best practices and financial performance.
Going forward, therefore, successful companies will increasingly
integrate sustainable development practices in their overall corporate
strategies as they vie to compete, increase shareholder value,
manage liabilities and enhance reputation.
Addressing Sustainability:
Benchmarks for Economic, Environmental and Social Performance will
focus on the convergence of
financial performance and sound sustainable development practices.
In addition to case studies of the strategies being implemented,
the
meeting will also present the financial up-side of these practices
and ways of measuring and rating sustainability. Speakers will share
with
you their experiences and insight on:
Convergence of Environmental,
Social and Financial Performance
Building Shareholder Value
Rating Sustainability
Corporate Responsibility and the Capital Markets
Sustainable Development Innovation in Asia
If your responsibilities
include finance, asset management, general management, strategy,
environment health and safety, quality or
operations, this conference will offer you a unique look at the
issues of sustainability and financial performance.
Please mark the date
on your calendar and register today. We look forward to seeing you
in Hong Kong in June.

The Convergence of Environmental,
Social and Financial Performance
an Update and Outlook on the Triple Bottom Line
The contributions of
environmental and social performance to the
"soft" side of company value are generally accepted, but
the link
between these and financial performance has been more difficult
to sell.
Environmental and social performance are increasingly impacting
the
bottom line, and through integrated approaches to the environmental
and social challenges of tomorrow, corporations and civil society
are
learning to better understand and value both the risks and opportunities
these challenges present. This session will provide participants
with an
updated view on the challenge of the Triple Bottom Line, ensuring
that
economic development also delivers on the dual goals of social progress
and environmental improvement.

An increasing number
of investors see corporate sustainability as a
crucial performance driver for their portfolios. By integrating
economic,
environmental and social criteria into their investment decisions
they

rising
importance of sustainability in business. The Head of Research of
SAM
Sustainable Asset Management will offer detailed insights into
sustainability-driven investments and, in particular, the Dow Jones
Sustainability Group Index that his company has launched together

to
integrate sustainability criteria into investment decisions as well
