Forest Trends is co-hosting an international conference on "Market-based Approaches to Sustainable Forestry Development and Forestry-based Poverty Alleviation:

Global Trends and Implications for China" at Huang Shan (Yellow Mountain), May 11-12 2001, with the Chinese Center for Agricultural Policy (CCAP) and other partners.

On September 14 and 15 we plan an international Conference on Sustainable

Commercial Forestry and Independent Certification in China, cohosted with the Research Centre for Ecological and Environmental Economics (RCEEE).

This conference would be followed with a meeting on sustainable forestry in the Russian Far East, the following week, in collaboration with several Russian and international NGOs.
