UNEP FI's Seventh Annual Global Roundtable.
14-15 March 2002

RIO ROUNDTABLE

UNEP FI's Global Roundtable will take place on the 14-15 March 2002 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The Roundtable, which is being hosted by BNDES, the Development Bank of Brazil, with sponsorship from CAF (Corporación Andina de Fomento), builds on six previous international conferences of the UNEP Insurance and Financial Institutions Initiatives.

Finance sector executives, government representatives, members of the business community, academics and others will discuss how environmental factors affect corporate performance, shareholder value and the challenge of ‘translating’ environmental performance into financially relevant terms.

With the World Summit for Sustainable Development (WSSD) taking place in September 2002 in South Africa, the UNEP FI Roundtable will act as a launch pad for a number of activities and publications that will feed into Rio +10 process.
