Environment



Key Concerns : Intensive resource use- deforestation, soil erosion, overgrazing, desertification. Industrial effluents and vehicle emissions are polluting the air. Raw sewage and runoff of agricultural pesticides is contaminating the water, and tap water is not potable throughout the country. Huge and rapidly growing population is straining natural resources.

Treaties that have been signed Ratified: Biodiversity, Climate Change, Ozone protection, Traffic in Endangered species (80% of reporting requirement met).
